[STORY] THE X-FAMILY (Season 02 Episode 02)

Episode 02.

Octavia was into her very deep slumber when she felt a hand tap her repeatedly.

“Mmh” she grumbled and turned uncomfortably on the bed.
It was Mica.

“Hey, Octavia. Wake up” she said in a husky whisper and continued taping her repeatedly.

“What is it, Mica? Let me be” she mumbled drowsily, not getting enough of the sleep.

“Seriously, Octavia? Wake up now, will you? You’ve been sleeping for too long already”.

“What do you mean too long? It isn’t upto 30 minutes yet”.

“Really? I’ve been home for more than 2 hours now and you’ve been sleeping since then. So, get up”.

Octavia felt her head spin. 2 hours??

The knowledge seeemed to chase the sleep away as she forcefully sat up. How could she sleep that long? 2 good hours?
Goodness?

She sighed and placed her hand on her forehead.

“How’re you feeling now?” Mica asked as she sat close to her and touched her neck, trying to feel her temperature.

“I’m…”

“Woah? Your temperature’s getting hotter, Octavia. Why’re you becoming this sick?” Mica flinched and Octavia just sighed despodently.

She hated feeling sick; hated looking weak.

“But Leo has been tending to you, right? How come you’re not getting any better?”

“Don’t worry about me, Mica. I’ll be fine. It’s um… it’s probably the change of weather”.

Mica stared at her with an unsatisfied look, noticing the weight gain.

“Try your best to get better, Octavia. You know we’ll be leaving for camp soon and everyone’s expected to be healthy. There’d be no room for excuses” Mica said but Octavia gave no reply.

Next, she lifted a bag from the floor and kept it on the bed in front of Octavia.

“Here. Got you the french fries” she told her.

“Huh?” Octavia peeped into the bag.
“Um…You shouldn’t have bothered. I don’t want it anymore’.

“What?” Mica’s eyes dimmed. “What do you mean, Octavia? You kept pestering me to get you the french fries on my way home. Do you know how far I had to go to get this?”

“Well, I’m… I’m sorry. I just don’t have an appetite for it anymore. I’ll… I’ll just get something to eat from the kitchen. Excuse me” she stood up from the bed and left the room.

She got into the kitchen and met Paula with one other lady, busy as usual.

“Hey, blue eyes” she winked at her as she walked in.

“Hi” Octavia smiled lightly.

Well, over the weeks, they’ve grown to be more fond of each other.

“Hungry again? Should I give you your preference?”

“Yeah. Thanks”.

Paula quickly heat up what she had been enjoying most for the past few days – Brunswick stew.

And as Octavia collected it from her, she felt sone kind of excitement, like one she had never felt in a long time. Oh! She couldn’t wait to devour it.

She found a place to sit and started eating immediately.

When she was done from the kitchen, she returned to her room but couldn’t find Mica in.

She took her bath and laid on the bed to resume sleeping.

The next time she was awake, it was already evening and remembering her dinner with Leo, she got ready to go meet him.

Gosh! Her head was aching so much, and her waist, legs…
Why does this have to happen to her, huh? She couldn’t recall the last time she fell sick. It has never been her thing.

She found something simple to wear, then brushed and styled her hair. And just when she was about turning away from the mirror, something from the window caught her attention.

She took slow strides towards it, her heart beating louder than it should be in her chest as she watched the view.

It was the Master – being sorrounded by his personal boys.

There was a boy kneeling in front of him, seeming to be at his mercy. Octavia couldn’t hear a thing they were saying as a result of the distance, but she saw Khalid say something and immediately, he started walking away with about three boys accompanying him.

The one kneeling called after him in pains, but Khalid didn’t stop to spare him a glance and the rest of the boys took him away.

Huh? Was he being punished? What did he do?

Oh God!

Octavia kept watching for a long while, even until they couldn’t be seen again..

Khalid…his image kept replaying in her head and she realized she had missed him so much.

He might’ve been bad to her, but she missed being around him and feeling all the things he made her feel.

Goodness! What is wrong with her?

She took in a deep breath and turned away from the window. And finally, she walked out of the room, headed for Leo’s.

Leo stood in front of the window, waiting desperately for Octavia.

Damn it! He could hardly control the urge any further. It was eating him up.

He fisted his hands as he watched earnestly, and after a while, he spotted her walking towards his room.

Oh! Finally, he could hardly wait.

For so long, he’s been trying to imagine what it’d feel like having her in his arms; what it’d feel like kissing and making her scream his name in bed.

Oh!! It’d sure be the perfect harmony ever.

His eyes grew darker as she got close. There was no way she was leaving his room untouched.
