[STORY] THE X-FAMILY (Episode 44)

Episode 44.

Her heart skipped repeatedly.

He was holding her! His hand was wrapped around her waist.

How possible?

Her sobs and whimpers were beginning to die down already as she was dumbstruck by his sudden touch. But she was too tired and felt dizzy immediately.

“Master…” She whispered his name.
And finally, she slept off.

It was morning already and Octavia could feel it from the same air that touched her skin.

She arched her brows as she forced her eyes open and felt herself still lying on the bed.

Oh! She was still in his room. She had slept in his bed.

She sat up immediately, suddenly recalling what had happened the last time she slept on his bed. Oh! She didn’t want to think about it.

She noticed she was still n@ked and tried to reach for her clothes on the floor and that was when she discovered her legs were hurting pretty bad.

Like… in-between her legs

Holy Christ?! She could hardly walk with them.

“Ouch!” She winced as she still struggled to get to it and feebly wore them on. Ah! At least, she succeeded.

Then, she took in a deep breath and took a look around the dazzling room.

Khalid – he didn’t seem to be in. And she noticed there was a round table set with breakfast.

Probably, Becca would be coming over for breakfast soon and she needed to leave as she didn’t want to get into more trouble.

She turned towards the door, leaping as she did. But suddenly, she heard a door open from behind her and she turned to see it was Khalid.

Oh, damn it! Did he really had to show up now?

She swallowed hard as she turned to face him. Her legs were hurting so bad, she couldn’t stand that way for long.

“G…Good morning, M…Master” she found herself stuttering – helplessly.
Her eyes were glued to the floor.

Khalid didn’t answer immediately as he walked to the wardrobe and pulled out a little napkin, cleaning his wet face with it.

Since he didn’t say a word, Octavia concluded he was done. And so, she turned around and continued towards the door, trying as much as possible not to leap.

“Take a seat” his voice was damn cold.

Octavia felt a heavy lump in her throat – one that was too heavy to gulp down – and slowly, she turned around to face him.

“M… Master?” She called timidly.
Why would he want her to take a seat? Wasn’t he done with her punishment?

Khalid was silent for a few more seconds as he finished with the napkin and drooped it back into the wardrobe.

Then, he sighed.

“I want you to have breakfast with me, Octavia” he said. “There are some things I want us to talk about”

Okay; that was it. Octavia almost lost it.

Her anxiety multiplied as she fell on her knees.

Some things?? What things??

Did he finally discover her secret? Know her reason for coming there?

Was everything exposed already?

But he just said “breakfast”.
Why would he ask for breakfast when he could easily question her right there if he wanted to?

He shot her a stare and walked over to the table, taking his own seat. And nervously, Octavia walked closer to join him.

It took her a lot not to make the pains in-between her legs noticeable. Goodness! She couldn’t believe he had almost killed her.

Well, she killed his unborn child.

She got to the table and took a seat as well, opposite to his.

But she still felt so uncomfortable. What if Becca showed up and gets more angry? How would she explain herself to her?

Seriously, she felt bad for what happened to Becca and really didn’t want to get into more trouble with her.

Khalid took the jar of tea and decanted some for himself. And when he returned the jar, Octavia figured she had to serve herself. And she did.

“T… Thank you, Master” she bowed her head before taking a sip from the tea.

There was some sliced bread on a neat plate on the table, and although they looked so fresh and yummy to Octavia, she still couldn’t think of eating it. Hell; she was too nervous to.

So, she just went with the tea.

“What is your main reason for being here, Octavia?” Khalid suddenly asked and thankfully, there had been no tea in Octavia’s mouth. Else, she’d have spilled it out.

Her eyes dilated in shock as she looked at him.

“M…M… Master?” She fumbled, her blue puppy eyes staring at him.

“Don’t give me that innocent look, Octavia” his voice was a little rash.

“From the first day you stepped into this clan, I knew you were here for a reason.

“People that come to join my clan are usually determined, fearless, strong. And they come here because it’s the life they’re used to.

“But you – you’re not used to any of this, Octavia and I know it. You’re not prepared for this life. And the determination you have is just for a particular reason , and not because you really want to belong here. So, tell me the truth. Why’re you really here?”

Octavia didn’t say a word but only bent her head in contrition.

She felt caught; caged. What does she do?

“You’re free to tell me, Octavia” his voice was suddenly calm and she looked into his eyes.

For a second, the calm look in his eyes almost convinced her and made her feel she could indeed,tell him the truth.

For a second, she wanted to spill it all out.

But suddenly, there was a knock on the door and it made her shake a little.

Khalid grunted and looked away from her.

“Who is it? I told you I didn’t want to be disturbed” he said huskily.

“I’m sorry, sir. But it’s Master Zack. He’s here to see you and said it’s urgent” the voice replied and Octavia almost sprang on her feet.

No!! What???

Master Zack??

Zack was there?? One of Her greatest fear??

Khalid was a bit surprised as well. Why would Zack be there without informing him?

He hesitated for a while before giving feedback.

“Let him in”.
