[STORY] THE PROPER MRS (Final Episode 12)

Episode 12 (Last Episode).

I didn’t give Ray a definite response even after my daughter was discharged two weeks after from the hospital.

She had finally got to sleep again in her beautiful room in Ray’s house.

She had fallen asleep because of the white soup that I had specially cooked for her and fed her with that morning.

I had covered Ray’s dinner and arranged it on the dining table and was about leaving when I noticed that he was at the door.

He locked the door before I could get out of the house and walked towards me. “You told me that you will give me your response once Zoolander is discharged from the hospital. Zoolander was back today. You won’t go home until you give me my response”.

I was surprised at his actions.

The truth was that I was scared of coming back to my home.

What if I eventually make mistake again and we get separated again?

Was I sure that I was going to be able to become the proper Mrs that Ray wants in his life?

Ray searched my eyes. “I know what you are thinking. You are thinking that you might not be able to measure up to the qualities I want in a wife. I recognise all your efforts, Patricia. I know I don’t even deserve someone like you. But I don’t know what I will do if you leave me”.

I sobbed. “Ray, when I saw that strange woman with you, I got so scared of loosing my family. It was that moment that I realised that I was so scared to loose you. I don’t think I can live without you”.

Before I knew it, I found myself in Ray’s arm and he was kissing me like he had always done.

….like he owned my body, like he was searching for my love in my mouth.

Tears trickled down my cheeks as he touched me.

I missed my husband with everything.

My heart, soul and body.

He had cuddled me all through the night after making love for the first time in a long while.

We had had sex for so long but the way my body had felt when he was touching my body made me realise that making love with your husband was different from just having sex with him.

Every single touch was intentional.

“I already sent my boys to pack everything from your parents house back to this place where it belongs”.

I gasped. “So fast?”.

He chuckled. “I was scared that if you go back home to get your things yourself, you might reconsider and not return to me”.

I laughed. “You are so annoying”.

“I miss you so much”. He whispered into my ear and watched me chuckle. “What are your plans for work?”.

“For the first time, my boss called me a married woman yesterday when he called. There was a time that I developed this mindset that once my boss feels marriage impact on me, he will be discouraged that he should have employed a single person instead of employing a married woman like me. But I have grown to understand that I haven’t been given my work and marriage their perfect time and that I have made a lot of mistakes by giving more time to work. But my goal is to be a successful wife and mother”.

He planted kisses on my forehead. “I will try to be more financially stable for you and my child. I want us to understand that any misunderstanding that comes between us is for us to understand each other better and learn from our mistakes. I love you so much, Patricia”.

“I love you too my love”.

Zoolander rushed to our room and excitedly jumped on our bed.

We held her in our arms.

For the first time in my life, I have never seen my daughter look so happy.

My daughter survived the accident and I was finally back with my family.

What more could I ask for?

Now I know that a woman that has a successful home is more successful than a woman that has a broken home even if she is successful at work because a woman that is successful in both her home and work is the real successful woman.

I am still growing gradually to be the proper Mrs I could ever be.

For my family.

For myself.
