[STORY] Road to Nowhere (Episode 18)

Episode 18.

Dammy heaved a sigh as she got home and realized that her mom was not yet back from work. Her dad was not yet back too.

She walked into the living room gently and was about going to her room when a voice stopped her.

“Where are you coming from ?”, Daniel asked.

” Em….. em…… em…….. Good good morning, em, good afternoon, sorry, Good evening, Bro Daniel”, Dammy stammered.

” You have not answered my question, young lady”.

” Bro Daniel, I told you I was going for a lesson before I left the house”.

” Dammy, but, you know I’m not a fool. So, you have been playing yourself as a prostitute. Dammy, I’ll stay awake and make sure that Daddy hears this. I don’t care about telling him all those things I did to you when I wasn’t yet born again. If telling him would change your life for better, I’m going to do it”.

Dammy went on her knees immediately, ” Bro Daniel, please, don’t let Daddy hear about this. He loves me so much and he would be disappointed. I didn’t do anything wrong, please, don’t tell dad anything. Okay let me make it up to you. Keep my outing today as a secret and I’ll keep what you did as a secret.

Daniel raised up Dammy from her knees and said, ” Dammy, this is not about keeping secrets. I don’t want your life destroyed. It’s true that I did something bad to you many years ago, but, I have repented. It’s Christ that now lives in me. Dammy, I don’t want it to be too late before you realize some things.

“But, Bro Daniel, I’m not a sinner. I’m not a saint either. I don’t steal, I have never killed anyone before, I go to church on Sundays, I read my Bible sometimes, I don’t keep malice, I’m not a part of any secret cult”.

” I know dear, but, not doing any of those bad stuffs you mentioned does not make you a child of God. You truly need to be born again. Christ went a long way to express His love for you, yet, you keep grieving Him. “Surely he hath borne our griefs and carried our sorrows, yet, we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God and afflicted. But, he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement of our peace was upon him and with his stripes we are healed”( Isaiah 53:4-5)

After all God has done for you, you keep hurting Him. Why?”

Dammy was getting emotional already, she replied,” Bro Daniel, I didn’t hurt God at all. I have never spoken badly about God.

“Okay, let me explain to you this way. Some years after God created the earth and the people in it, God looked upon the earth and saw that the wickedness of man was great and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. The Bible says in Genesis 6: 6- And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth and it grieved him at his heart.
My dear, are you sure God is not repenting of creating you? Are you sure that God is not regretting bringing you to the world? Are you sure that your actions is not grieving the heart of God?
Dammy didn’t answer her brother, all she did was to cry and shake her head in regret.

“Now tell me the truth, where did you go to and what happened there?”. Daniel asked concernedly.

Dammy tears increased and she replied, “I went to David’s house”.

“David ! Who is David?”.

” He is my classmate and my friend”. Dammy replied.

” Okay, were his parents at home, or who was there together with you guys?”

” His parents weren’t at home. It was just the two of us”

” What! You mean it was only the two of you and you were there for hours. Tell me, what were you doing? Were you doing an assignment or discussing?”

Dammy couldn’t answer.

Daniel held her hands and said, ” Please, tell me the truth. What happened? ”

Dammy broke into tears.

” Dammy, stop this and talk to me. Did anything happen between you too? “, Daniel asked.

” We….. We….. We did it”, Dammy said and continued crying.

“I still don’t get it. What did you do?”, Daniel asked.

Dammy turned back and Daniel noticed her blood stained dress. It’s true that Dammy was no longer a virgin, but, whenever she had sex after a long period of time, she would bleed.

Immediately Daniel saw the blood stain, he got the message.

Daniel was in short of words. He didn’t know what to do. He couldn’t scold his sister because that wouldn’t help the situation at all. Dammy didn’t stop crying, Daniel had no option than to console her.

After some minutes, he said, “Dammy, I’m really sorry about what happened. This situation is not good at all. I had a bad feeling when you were going for the outing, I warned you , but, you wouldn’t listen. I also had a terrible dream after you left, that was why I was calling you, but, you didn’t pick my call. Telling mom about it is not a good idea, because she is always aggressive. She would only make the situation worse. Dammy, first thing first. You really need Christ in your life. He is the only one that can help you and turn your mess into a message. He is the only one that can build your life and perfect everything that needs to be perfected. Do you want to accept Him now?”.

Dammy nodded affirmatively.

Daniel led Dammy to Christ and prayed with her.

“Dammy, I thank God for your life. Henceforth, you have to make the Bible your companion. Also, praying must be a constant part of you. Serve God with all your heart”.

” Thank you very much, Bro Daniel. I really appreciate. I can’t thank you enough. Thank you for bringing me to God”.

” You are welcome , baby sis. You can go and get some rest in your room now. I’ll see you later”, Daniel said as he left for his room.

“Dammy, I said I’m sorry. Why do you want to stop our friendship”. David asked as he tried to catch up with Dammy.
