Episode 42.

“Sinceeeeee ….” he replied stressing the word.

“Why did Daddy leave your mum?” I asked

“Mummy said Daddy followed another woman” Roland replied. “I remember you from the former house. I know you were the one who took Daddy away, I know it’s because of you, Daddy removed our family picture in our living room”

“Oh! Family Picture? Who were those in the pictures?”

“Us… Daddy, Mummy, Greg and me”

“Wow”

“Daddy even removed he and mummy’s wedding pictures before you came. Aunty please don’t take my daddy away again….”

“No… I won’t do that, that’s why I brought your Dad here today so that he and mummy can get back together.”

“Oh Really?”

“Yes, so we can live happily together”

“Thank you Aunty” Roland hugged me and Greg followed suit…

“Greg looks so much like your daddy” I said probing further.

“Mum says my biological Dad is different, but uncle F.D is now my Daddy. Uncle F.D is Greg and Timothy’s Dad….”

Roland supplied me the heart wrenching news I was dreading to hear….

“Your baby is beautiful, is she our step sister? Roland asked

“Hmmm… Well, let’s use the word cousin…” I replied

“But Aunty my teacher said it is not right for a man to have two wives, why is Daddy Married to you and Mum?” Roland started probing

“I didn’t know your parents were married, they tricked me” I wanted to say to Roland, but it wasn’t safe. I was planning something deadly for the two who thought they could play me.

The plan was clearer to me, thanks to their son. F.D married me to steal from me and without been obvious was using my money to take care of his family. They were going to pay.

“Roland, I have a plan and it’s a secret… can I trust you to keep the secret?” I said to Roland as I didn’t want him spilling the beans about our conversation.

“Yes….” he nodded

“I plan on leaving your dad, so you and your mum could have him to yourselves, so let’s keep all we said a secret”.

“Okay…” Roland said. It was not easy to miss the Joy in his eyes

My Joy at seeing Leni knew no bounds, we had stayed at her house for hours and Promise ensured we swore to let bygones be bygones. Leni eased up a bit, but I could still sense a bit of reservation towards me especially after our conversation in the kitchen.

Promise had indeed surprised me for good.

“Promise, you don’t know what this means to me … Having Leni and her kids back in my life is a miracle. Thank you”

“Things we do for love” Promise beamed…
