[STORY] FLIRTATIOUS (Episode 23)

Episode 23.

“Promise is back!” F.D said. His eyes had a mix of joy and guilt. I could read his expression anyday , anytime.

” Promise, Which Promise?” I was blank. I didn’t remember any Promise.

” My Promise, the lady…” He said expecting me to know who he was talking about.

” Which Lady?” I asked again

” The Married Lady from two years back”

” Oh!” Remembrance hit me.

” Leni, I am not over her yet. I am just coming from her place. Her husband is dead and she has a lot of money” He said obviously confused. He didn’t know how to gather and place his points before me.

I watched in anticipation at where his talk was headed. …

” So, I thought of something that would benefit us.” He said finally as he stared into my eyes. A part of me knew his talk about his plans benefiting the both of us was just surface talk. Whatever, he had in his mind must first benefit him.

I nodded waiting for what was coming.

” I want to marry her, so I can take care of you and the kids” He blurted out and I looked blankly at him. I didn’t understand how marrying her was connected to him taking care of me.

” What exactly does that mean? What do you want from me?” I asked

” Just say you are my sister and not my wife” He said and immediately I got the picture. He wanted to marry her and spend her money on me and the children.

” How do we explain Greg?” I asked because Greg was a splitting image of F.D.

” I already told her someone got you pregnant” He said

” And this person looks so much like you?” I asked sarcastically

” She won’t see the resemblance, Leni , People only see what they want to see.” He said desperately

“So how long is this arrangement going to last” I asked as pretending for long was not my thing..

” I don’t know, but this will not affect us, you will still be my wife. I could relocate you abroad with her money or you remain here and give you the good life you deserve.”

” Are you going to divorce me?” I asked

” No, never….you still remain my wife”

” Fine, if that’s what will make you happy. I know you don’t love me deeply, I know you love this woman , and since you have the opportunity of marrying her now that her husband is dead, I won’t stop you” I said

” Thank you, Thank you so much” F.D hugged me tightly…

” I also have a confession…” I said

” What is it?”

” Segun…”

” You love him and want to go back to him?”

I nodded…

” Do you still have his contact?” He asked ignorantly

” For the past one year, i have been meeting him every weekend and just some minutes back, I found out I am pregnant for him”

The silence in the room was loud….F.D didn’t see that coming. He thought he was the only player but little did he know I was faster than him…

” Wow!” He exclaimed

” Yeah…You didn’t give me a choice, I was becoming depressed because of your lack of love and attention. You have been treating me like trash. You don’t care about my welfare. Segun doesn’t have money, but he gives me Joy.”

” Have you told him about the pregnancy?”

” Not yet, I just found out.”

” Well I guess our case is settled. You go for Segun, while I go back to Promise.”

F.D said those words like it was going to be that easy but ….

” You can’t be pregnant for me, Leni…you are married” Segun said

” I am not sure I can call myself married anymore.” I replied

” Meaning?” Segun asked

” My brother reconnected with a woman he loved in the Past and he wants to marry her.”

” He can’t unless he divorces you. You had a court wedding remember ” Segun said

” Segun, I thought you would be excited about the pregnancy and the possibility of F.D and I going our seperate ways”

” No, I can’t be happy that I
broke your marriage. I am sorry, I don’t know what is going on with you and your brother, but one thing is sure, you need Help. Leni, as much as I love you, I don’t think I can settle down
With you. There is so much drana going on with you, for instance, you are about to have your third child with a third father.. Nooooo…. It is not right ”

” Segun, so what are you saying?”

” Go back to your husband, When you give birth to my child, call me , I Will come for him or her. ”

The ground where I stood on started quaking…
