[STORY] The Exclusive Sex Worker (Episode 26)

Episode 26.

We had just finished with an early dinner and I was just about done with the dishes when Viv suddenly asked, “Are you okay? Tishé? You’ve been quite reserved for a while now.”
I looked at her. She was so bloody damn perceptive, “Yeah, …I’m good.”

“You sure? You don’t have anything you want to talk about?” Viv tried again.

“I’m fine, why would you think there was something wrong?”

She shrugged, “You are easy to read, you don’t hide your feelings well. You’ve been in the room all day, moody, you only came out of dinner and you are not your usual self.”

I really didn’t feel like talking about my issues with Viv and I knew she wouldn’t back off if I didn’t give her something, so I just said, “I’m okay… I guess its our final projects getting to me…. I’m not sure the outfits I designed for my collection are good enough. I’m considering sketching new stuff.”
“ Are you crazy?” Viv’s eyes widened in surprise. “Don’t you dare make a single change to anything! Those designs are awesome, what’s wrong with you? Everyone has been envying your drawings and you say you want to change it, don’t you dare!”

I couldn’t help but laugh at how serious she was taking it. My drawings were fine but I could make a few changes without her knowing about it if we wanted to. “Relax joh, I’m not changing anything.”

“Good.”

“As if you will stop me if I do,” I added snidely as I dried my hands.

“ Tishé!” Her eyes narrowed.

“Chill joh. I’m going to have my bath.” I said leaving the kitchen for her.

Halfway through my bath, I thought I heard some sort of noise, like Vivian yelling at the top of her voice at someone. I rinsed my hair quickly and rounded off before stepping out from the bathroom.

I heard her clearly now, I was right. She was yelling at someone and curiously I wondered what that was about.

Pulling on a black t shirt and shorts, I left my wet hair wrapped in a towel as I stepped out. I had loosened my weave earlier as it was about time to make some new hair style.

Stepping into the living room, I saw Viv behind the door. I was about to ask what was up when I heard his voice and froze in shock.

He was here, Rich was the one behind the door Viv had been talking to and he didn’t sound too pleased when he spoke.

“Let me in now, I just want to talk to her.” He said.

“She doesn’t want to talk to you.” Viv replied raising a brow at me as if asking if that was what I wanted.

I was sort of presently confused at the moment. I wasn’t sure I wanted to speak to him but it was not nice leaving him out there.

“What do you want Rich?” I summoned up the courage to ask.

He paused for a second before replying. “Why don’t you open up and then we’ll talk? I just want to talk.”

He said but I wasn’t sure. I didn’t trust him.

“You should go, Rich. I’ve backed out of everything, there’s nothing to talk about.”

“Tishé, open this door dammit! Or I swear I will break it down.” He yelled now pissed, and I jumped. Now, this was the Rich I was familiar with, the nasty tempered one.

“She is not opening the door!” Viv yelled back and I signalled at her to stop. This would only make things really worse. This was Richard freaking Doherty at my door, he might be an Buttocks but I couldn’t keep such an important man outside the door like this.

He was probably here to convince me, maybe offer me more money or threaten me. What’s the worst that could happen? My mind was made up and he wasn’t changing it.

“It’s okay, Viv, let me hear what he has to say.” I said quietly. Knowing him, I had a feeling he was going nowhere and would probably try to bring down the front door. The sooner I talked to him, the sooner he could leave anyway.

She turned to me with a look of surprise, “You sure?”

I nodded and she opened the door.

When she did, my gaze connected with Rich’s handsome face, he had his stony expression and looked quite pissed. I was used to seeing the look already.
He was dressed formally as he usually was most of the time. A sharp looking fitted midnight blue suit, a white shirt and a plain navy blue silk neck tie. He must have attended some meetings or something important for him to be looking so formal on a Sunday.

He stepped in, his gaze still on me. He didn’t even look in Viv’s direction. It seemed she didn’t exist to him.

“Can we talk privately… can she… Disappear?” He said to me, with a slight inclination of his head in Viv’s direction.

“I am not disappearing anywhere.” Viv said stubbornly.

Rich turned to her, “I understand that you’re loyal to her but this is between me and her. You’re not needed…. I won’t kill her if that’s what you’re afraid of.”
“I’m not leaving, say whatever you want to say in my presence.”

I turned to Viv, quite amazed at her bravado. I also wanted her there for some reason. There was just something dangerous about this man and I didn’t want to be left alone with him. Maybe I shouldn’t have let him into the apartment in the first place.

“Seriously?” Rich asked no one in particular

“Seriously!” Viv replied firmly.
