Episode 16.

Macaulay was sitting in his office working on a case file , on his apple computer, when his phone buzzed , he was engrossed on his assignment that he didn’t pay attention, but the vibration and buzzing from the phone called for his attention and he stared at the screen of his phone . It was Micheal calling , he and Micheal had not been meeting regularly as they used to do in the past , the older generation was gradually handing over their chambers to their sons , they had little time to spare for pleasure.

“Hello Micheal how are you doing?” Macaulay asked .
“I’m not good Macaulay, I thought you were my best friend? ”
Macaulay was surprised as to why , Micheal was sounding furious at him, for twenty four years of their friendship, they had never for once had issues .
“Man why that tone? Is it because I’ve not called or hooked up…”
Micheal wouldn’t let him land .
“Macaulay how can you accept Lara into your father’s firm without first consulting me your best friend? You know she’s my woman , you know she has a place here and a good salary, why would you take her Into your firm ?”
Macaulay couldn’t understand Micheal’s anger .
“Men I am sorry I didn’t confide in you , it wasn’t up to me , my wife kept on begging , that her mum put her up to it .”
Micheal was hell mad at his best friend.
“So why would you not inform me ? For two weeks? Imagine the shock on my face as I run into her in the court on your father’s legal team, you don’t think that could cause friction in our long family ties ?”
Macaulay asked .
“Micheal please it’s not that bad, I’m sorry for not informing you, I wasn’t intentional, it’s just that I’ve been through a lot lately.”
Micheal cut the call . He dialed Lara’s number .
“Hello Lara can you bring the file on the Dangote case to my office , the case is coming up next week, I need to cross check the evidences .”
Lara took the stair case up ,when she got close to the door to Macaulay’s door , she unbuttoned two buttons of her shirt , shoved her boobs up her bra so it would poop up, then she walked into the office with a smile . Lara was an attractive woman , more beautiful than her identical sister , Macaulay looked up at her and hide his face . Immediately his heart to pound fast and blood flowed through his veins , he a sensual urge overflowed him .

“Lara why are you dressed like this ?”
He asked dodging his eyes from her bust. She laughed .
“Macaulay stop acting like a child I know you love what you see, does your wife have full bust like mine?”

Macaulay was disoriented.
“Lara I’m your sister’s husband why are you doing this?”
He said , fighting the excruciating urge to pull her on the desk and travel with her to the garden of Eden.
“You were mine before she came into the picture! I loved you before you knew she existed but you picked her over me , I can’t live without you, life is tasteless without you.”
Micheal took courage to ask her to leave his office .she got out and was dressing up, try to button up her shirt , when Barrister Babalola SAN worked on her .
“Lara what are you doing here? ”
She was startled and panicked.
” Sir … Mac.. me .. Macaulay asked that I bring files.. I mean evidence … I mean files for the Dangote case to him.”
He made a grunting sound and grumpily walked to his office, Lara thank God , the SAN did not catch her trying to seduce his sun .she dressed up and rushed back to her office.

“Hello Macaulay come to my office right away .”

Macaulay sensed trouble in his father’s voice , he’s never heard his dad speak in a bland tone to him , he wore his suit , and climbed three stairs to his father’s office , the secretary greeted him as he made his way into the office .

‘ Good afternoon daddy.”
Macaulay said.
“Yeah son , I saw Lara coming out of your office , I don’t understand the reason why you insisted she works here , I spoke to Obafemi, he told me suddenly decided to stop working, you’re married to her sister , you cannot have anything to do with her , our reputation is very paramount for the existence of this firm , I don’t want to hear of any fowl play , you’ve been given all the trainings you need to be a responsible man . Apart from office work do not have any relationship with her .”
He returned his guess to the laptop on his desk , Macaulay left back to his office .

Lora and Bidemi drove for thirty minutes looking for the house of the prophet , finally they found the old wood church that looked like a old shrine, Lora was scared of getting in , Lara urged her in .
“You’re welcome my daughters ”
The old prophet said to her .
He brought out a bowl of water,and steered it with hands .
“Your name is Lora and you’re Bidemi, you Lora you’re the one with the problem.”
He said pointing to Lora.
“You’ve been married for fiyr years now , and you’ve not been able to conceive , they’ve tied your womb on an Iroko tree. If we don’t conduct deliverance you’ll remain barren forever.”

Fear gripped Lora.
“Who is the person responsible holy one ? ”
Bidemi asked .
“Don’t talk! Shhhhhhht! Don’t disturb the flow of the spirit , Jaaaah! Holy Micheal! Holy Moses! Spirit speak! Spirit speak !
”
He screamed like turning round and round like a fowl having convulsion.

“It’s a woman your blood! Holy Micheal! Holy Gabriel! Speak holy Abednego! Speak am listening! Speak !”
He was silent for a moment then he said .
“It’s your mother. It’s your mother ! She doesn’t want you to be happy.”
At this point Lora stopped believing him, he was asked to make an offering, she dropped fifty thousand naira before she and Bidemi left the place .
