Youths Beat Customs Officer After A Suspected Rice Smuggler Was Killed

A Customs officer, yesterday, came within inches of being lynched after some of his colleagues killed a suspected rice smuggler in Ogun State.

It was gathered that the suspect was killed for not yielding to their bribe demand. Upon killing him, the officers fled, but one of them was nabbed by some youths who witnessed what happened.

It took the intervention of some kind-hearted people to save him from being killed by the irate mob.
