Ereme Abraham Bankole Ebiholo is a Nigerian comedian known professionally as Twyse_116, born on July 28, 1992 in Edo state, Nigeria. Twyse began his film making career in 2012. Twyse, just like Taaooma, Maraji, Aphricanace (Dami Olatunde), KlintonCOD and many others gained popularity by creating a single cast contents while switching roles.

Life and career

Early Life

Ereme Abraham Bankole Ebiholo was born in July 28, 1992 to Babajide [citation needed] and Tayelolu Ereme who hails from Edo State, Nigeria [The mom is from Ondo state] and happens to be the only son of his parents. He lived few part of his early years in Germany [citation needed] before relocating to Port Harcourt, Nigeria. After his dad’s demise, he moved to Ibadan where he lived with his grandmother. Twyse became fluent with Yoruba language because neighbors use the “Yoruba to MURDER US” – Twyse, said.

Tywse had his primary education at Obiye primary school, Port Harcourt and St. Isabel Nursery and Primary school, Ibadan and his secondary school education at Federal Government College, Odogbolu, Ogun State.

UNPOPULAR OPINION: Twyse is the first Nigerian to make a single cast with multiple roles for comedy skits.

After secondary school education [middle school], during his A-level education where he was studying law, at the age of 17-18 [citation needed], Twyse dropped out school as a result of family issue, which made him left the house to began living on his own. After a while, he met a friend, Kenneth Etim [citation needed] who referred him to another friend who helped him secure admission to study Filming[Film Making] in India.

He obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design and Animation from Annamalia University, Chennai,India and studied Information and Communications Technology at London Metropolitan University.

In 2016, Twyse attempted suicide. He however was stopped from performing the act – due to help from UK police, family[his mother] and people around.

Career

Twyse doesn’t like being regarded as a comedian, but rather, an actor. He started acting off the idea of creating a family he never had. He said; “my Dad is so cool from the little I knew about him, he was very hardworking. So I tried to create the opposite of my Dad as the Dad on my Instagram family(Twyse Family) – who is just a lazy man, who just talks-talks-and-say shii, and my mom is more of a quiet person, and she’s a porsh person, so I just tried to replicate that image but she’s not really into the extravagant lifestyle, so I just kinda mixed up everything, nothing more….”

Twyse dad art

Daddy Tobi

Twyse started off his film making career with Falz impression in 2015, after a while, he realized the “Falz impression” has been used up. “It got to a stage whereby the whole impression I have with falz was used up, and am like; Ok, am I gonna quit this video thing? – when the impression was done, I just had to do something to keep the video going cos I realized I was getting a bit of interaction, so we kept doing it like that and as soon as it was done. My brother, Will(WillTeg), then suggested to me like; I could start my own thing, and I was like, dude, I can’t do that. He convinced me to start making videos of my own and I was like; what we’re gonna do; let’s set up a family of just the mother, a son and the father, and from there, it grew and I get my inspiration from things that happened around me. Most times, when I’m even thinking of what to record or video to make; I just look at the people’s life and I’ll be like; I could turn this into a 15 seconds skit or whatever. And I just make use of the situations around me.”,

Twyse began approaching major/big spotlight for his comedy skit with “My mum slapping a pan on my maid in the kitchen” video. He said;

I think it is “my mum slamming a pan on my maid in the kitchen”. Aphricape posted that video on his page and my page started getting a lot of followers from that time. Also, Krakstv and many of my fans have been very supportive by doing the same overtime.

He is well known for his creativity, passion and consistency. What began as a result of boredom is now a source of income. During an interview, he explained;

No, back then I just did it to kill boredom. I also found out that it was a way of escaping from being depressed. Once in a while, I made a fool of myself, my family and friends but some people found it weird. Their reaction only motivated me to push further and do more.

The unique characters he created and acted is what made him unique which is an impressive form of art which shows his video production and acting skills.

My intention was never to be popular. As a matter of fact, I hate being the center of attraction. Followers or not, I will still be doing what I’m doing because my aim is to impact on my generation and the society. I want to encourage and enlighten my environment through my own little experience. Film making is my dream but as long as people find my skits entertaining, there would always be a blend of both. I’ve started making some huge investment in that independently and it promises to get bigger.

I would say that my craft got me that far, nothing special to be honest. The fact is that quite a lot of people love what I do. What works to my advantage is the fact that I am very consistent with my work and I have noticed that people always look forward to seeing more of my videos. I guess this has contributed to the high number of followers that I have on my social media platforms. – he explained

Education

Tywse had his primary education at Obiye primary school, Port Harcourt and St. Isabel Nursery and Primary school, Ibadan and his secondary school education at Federal Government College, Odogbolu, Ogun State.

Fans Compare Twyse to Charles king

Fans Compare Twyse to 17th President of Liberia, Charles King who won 1927 elections with 234,00 voters in a country with 15,00 registered voters.

He obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design and Animation from Annamalia University, Chennai,India and studied Information and Communications Technology at London Metropolitan University. However, in every of his three attempts to get a degree, he couldn’t. In  a video[“FLY” by Hopsin] he posted on his Instagram page on February 6, 2016, he wrote;
Education is a good thing but don’t let your inability to go to school limit your creativity. i personally have dropped out of school 3 times and i’m not proud to say it. just want to inspire someone out there. Dream Big, it’s allowed.”.

Film Making

2012-2013

As a video editor, director and video-grapher, Twyse started officially in 2012 after he realized his passion for film making. On March 7, 2013, he published his first official project on his Youtube channel, a video titled “Lyrically Blessed” by JIMMIE KNOXX. He further published more contents which include; FARGONE (DARE TO BE), CAGE DA BEAST presents FAR-GONE Trailer 2013, Epiphany Of STORJ, all together making four (4) videos

2014-2015

Following his passion for filming, he created an account on Instagram and began making teleport videos with some Falz impression videos as a result of boredom, also to make fun of himself. Contrary to what he thought, people loved what he was doing and started following his page. Later when Falz’s impression was over, he rolled out his own template when he realized people loved what he was doing. He also did few inspirational videos.

2016-present

After the short-run of flowing with Falz’s impression, Twyse began his own genre officially, after his friend (Will) had told him to start making his own real content/video. He created six (6)[ – five(5) active] characters/casts, which are; Daddy Tobi, Mommy Tobi, Tobi, Taofeek, Sade & Lollipop. So far, he has produced over 100 comedy skits, which includes; PRAY FOR DADDY, ENDTIME CHURCH, OLODO GRAMMAR SCHOOL, etc.

THE TRASH EP

On Nov 26, 2018, Twyse released an EP titled “THE TRASH EP”. The EP contained six (6) tracks and featured TROD, Timilehin Adejokun, Willteg, Maraji, Aphricanace & Family in it. He wrote; My next series of post after this will be videos, skits & film only. i’m done with the music aspect of my life. Twaz fun tho . WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE TRACK on the EP?

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS WITH TWYSE

WHY 116?

“Yeah, 116 was like, initially my gospel thing. Literary I googled some numbers which 116 happens to be one of them – when I saw the number on Google back then, it says something like; it’s ‘a number that gives a reference or symbolizes the fact that what you think is what you get’, so if you think positive or if you think positively, you get positive result and if you think negatively, you get negative result. It’s just like – the way you think is what you get”

WHY YOU STAYED WITH YOUR GRANDMA AND HOW DID YOU FEEL THEN?
“The only reason I had to stay with my grandma back then was [because] some things were going on in my family personally, and my mom had to deal with some things. So, she was busy working while I had to stay with my grandma, it’s not like much stress for her bringing me up back then. So that’s just it.”

WHAT’S YOUR IDEAL TYPE OF GIRL?
“I think she just have to be hardworking, you have to have a dream, you have to a goal and the rest doesn’t really matter to me. Maybe… someone who doesn’t talk too much as well, yeah. Not like ‘doesn’t talk’. I don’t like someone who gossip, so maybe if you talk about relevant thing, that’s cool. Things that can actually be more beneficial to the relationship or whatever is going on between I and that person.”

CELEBRITY CRUSH
“Rihanna, Mzkiss, Omotola Jalade”

WHY ARE YOU SCARED OF MARRIAGE?
“Yeah, the reason why I said I’m scared of marriage is not because I’m actually scared but, from the kind of family where I come from, once you get married, you’re not allowed to divorce. So, if you settle down with the wrong person, you probably have to die with the person. That’s the end of it. You’re not allowed to make a second choice when it comes to marriage. For most relationships, if you’re really into a relationship for serious reason, I think you guys should learn to be friends at first, when you can tell the good and the bad side of the person, then you can progress to like getting closer, like intimate, and stuff like that.”

WHY I STARTED MAKING VIDEOS
“The reason I started making videos was initially because I was depressed and I using it as a way of expressing myself in DUMB way actually, but it turned out that person actually like what I was doing.”

HOW DO YOU PRONOUNCE TWYSE?
“Actually you pronounce it like the same spelling[pronunciation] as TWICE. The reason why I came up with the name initially was just like ‘put in TWICE the effort into whatever I was doing.’ It’s still the same meaning to me as TWICE, just a different spelling.”

WHAT DID YOU STUDIED IN COLLEGE?
“I studied information communication technology (ICT).”

WHAT ARE YOUR NEXT FUTURE PLANS? HOW BEST DO YOU TREAT YOUR HATERS? AND HAVE YOU HAD SOMEONE TELL YOU TO THE FACE THAT YOU CAN’T SUCCEED IN THESE SKITS YOU’RE DOING?
He said; “I like this question, my future plans; I just wanna make videos and make people around me happy about life, you know. And I just wanna give people hope, you know. Whatever you’re doing in life, you’re gonna achieve [it] as long as you stay focus and you’re just putting your best effort, and just ask God to lead you the right way, I believe focus is a very good thing, just focus on that dream, just place your mind on that dream, you’re gonna succeed, trust me, trust me. So my future plan is just to make more videos, encourage people, tryna help the less privilege, to tryna be something in life. I believe if you’re a real hater, you should meet me in person and tell me you hate me, like, being a cyber bully doesn’t make sense to me and funny enough, I don’t even know if I have haters or not. I just think haters are people who – who like you, and they’re just finding a reason to dislike you, you get what I’m saying… If you don’t have haters, then how do you know the value of success or the value of improvement? You need these haters sometimes to criticise you and to make you improve better on yourself and… I don’t even know who these people are, like, my haters could come to me in public and be like ‘HEY BRO, I LIKE YOUR VIDEO! I LIKE YOUR VIDEO ON INSTAGRAM’ and I’ll be like ‘Oh, cool bro! You’re loyal, you’re loyal, you’re my person, you’re my brother, man.’ – You don’t know if that’s a hater, so I really don’t know about my haters and I give no attention to them. Initially though, I was really pissed at people, who were tryna piss me off but, right now… If you’re a hater, good luck hating, you’re part of my success. I think every good person deserves a hater. Having haters is like an award, if you don’t a hater, you’re not moving, you’re succeding. So, I feel the hatred is part of what makes grow, is part of what makes your light shine – cos if there’s no darkness, what’s the use of light. Yeah, there was a girl who said that – [initially when I was still struggling to have 20 likes, and I’d hashtag like 50 people, so what that girl said was… Uhm! I can’t remember but it was something like;] ‘This dude is just doing some boring shii and bla bla bla bla, it’s things before have done before, so it’s nothing new.’ And that was the day I decided to stop taggin people, I just do my videos, post it and people are gonna come across it and be like; ‘You can’t do that, you’re never gonna be successful with that,’ you just need to keep pushing, keep pressing and STAY UNIQUE”

Q & A WITH TWYSE AND MOM

TWYSE MOM’s NAME
“Tayelolu Ereme. Gave birth to TWYSE alone.”

HOW MANY TATTOOS DO YOU HAVE
“Six (6).”

MOST ANNOYING THING YOU DID TO MOM?
MOM: It’s actually two things; number (1) was the day he just left the house without my consent. I was annoyed, like, ANYWHERE YOU NEED TO GO, YOU HAVE TO TELL ME. Number (2) was this tattoo thing, because I don’t really know the meaning of all these tattoos until he explained to me. (No, I didn’t do it to feel among, I just did it to encourage myself, Twyse said.)
TWYSE: I think the one I remember was the day my mom told me, I think she told me to wash the plate or clean the bathroom. And I was arguing with her like ‘I can’t do this, gagagagaga(bla bla bla)’ and she took me to the corner, and I was like ‘Mom, don’t let me break your finger something something’ and while I was talking, I didn’t even finish[conclude] my statement, my mom just slap me. OH MY GOD!, I saw lightening and thunder. I was shocked, I cleaned the bathroom and toilet so quickly. I did it under few seconds.”

DID YOUR SON LEARN HOW TO SPEAK YORUBA BECAUSE OF YOU?
Yes, because of me, and because of his grandma (big mommy)

DID YOUR MOM GREW UP ABROAD?
No, she grew up in the village.

WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST REACTION WHEN YOU (TWYSE MOM) SAW HIS VIDEO?
I was surprised.

WHAT’S YOUR MOM’s FAVORITE FOOD?
Pounded Yam.

WHEN DID YOU STOP PEEING IN BED?
A year plus or two years.(mom)

WHAT’S THE CRAZIEST THING YOU’VE DONE?
I think I’ve done was back in my secondary school, when I used to jump fence and they’ll report to my mom that “your son is jumping fence o”. And my mom would be like “what would you be jumping fence for?”. Ask me what I was jumping fence for? I was just jumping fence to go and eat beans and bread.

DO YOU SMOKE?
I used to, but I don’t smoke again.

DID YOU NOTICE AT AN EARLY STAGE, EREME’S TALENT? Yes (her answer)
HOW DO YOU FEEL WHEN EREME WEARS WRAPPER AS BREAST AND PUTS CLOTHES IN HIS ASS TO ACT AS “SHADE”? (Comfortable, since it’s part of his job, I understand)

THE FIRST TIME I HAD SEX | Story Time

I grew up with my parent in Porthacourt, after my dad’s death, we moved on to Ibadan where I lived with my grandmother. So few years, things got better and I had to go and live with my mom, and thing were going on smoothly and fine till I had a step dad. So, after I was through with secondary school, I had to go for my A’level where I studied law and everything was peaceful until suddenly I had to go for my lectures one day, and I went to meet my mom and I was like “mom, I need pocket money”(back then, cos I wasn’t working, I think I was like… 17 or 18). And my mom said something that really shocked me that day, but I don’t think that was what she intended to say, I guess she must have been going through some stress with my step dad that I wasn’t informed about. But it really got to me and I was really sad and for some reason I left home that day, I took part of my savings and I went for my lectures and in the night, I was on bed trying to sleep ahead of the next day’s lectures but I just couldn’t sleep, I was really troubled and my chest was aching(paining) me so bad, I cried, and cried but well, I couldn’t hold it anymore. And later on that night I tried to take a stroll to see I could ease the tension but it didn’t work, so I had to come back and I stayed awake till around 4AM(in the morning). When I realized I couldn’t sleep again, I just to go and break my kolo(saving/piggybank), and I took out the money I had, I think I had about #760 or thereabout and I left the house, and that was it. So I made my way through Redeem camp(for those of you know Ibadan-Lagos expressway) and I slept underground there for few days. After some times, I went searching[hunting] for a job, and I got employed as one of the teachers in a secondary school in Mowe [but I won’t mention the name of the school]. I was teaching the students English language, and I was trying to prepare them for their WAEC exams, back then. So after some times, they couldn’t afford to pay all their teachers[staffs] full salary, I had to leave the school cos I had to pay for my rent and stuff like that. After some times, I met a friend, his name is Adams, and we moved on for some youth conference in Winners Chapel (where Covenant University is). Later on, the conference was over and we had to stay behind. Basically, we use to sleep in a pako house[Wooden house] like that. We cook there and we go outside to bath in the bush cos the security people around mustn’t know we were actually living there. And there was this security guy that saw us once and begged him not to report us to anybody and all of a sudden we became close [pals]. After some times, Adams moved on, and I moved on, too. And while I was leaving the home, initially, I broke my SIM card and everything that have to do with contacting my family members because I just wanted to start everything afresh. So after some times, there were building a secondary school in Winners chapel and I had to go there to go and look for a job. I did a bit of a bricklaying, I did concrete mixture [KONKERE!], a bit of filling, a bit of digging and stuff. So there was this day I was digging this hole where they had to built foundation for some part of the building and I got tired after some time and I slept in the hole and I slept for four(4) hours. I woke up around 4AM, and my other colleagues had almost done with their own digging and my other colleagues were hefty men, you know [there were into IGBORO that time, me I was like Ajebutter]. So after doing that for a while, I moved on, and I met a friend, his name is Kenneth Etim[citation needed], he was a student of Covenant university and later on, things moved on and I applied for a job in the University Restaurant [Cafeteria 1] – the rejected me, so I tried Cafeteria 2 – which I finally got the job. I worked in Cafeteria 2, I sold drinks, I sold food, sometimes. And, a lot of people promised to help back then, including the pastors and so [but I won’t mention names]. But nothing happened, basically. So I worked there for a while, then Kenneth introduced me to this guy, and the first thing he asked me was; “If I wanted to study[further education]”, and I was like; “Yeah”. Then he asked me what would I like to study, and I said I would like to study Filming[Film making]. And he asked me “where I would love to study?”. And I said “OK, I think I love the way Hollywood and Bollywood do their movies, and I would love to do something with them”. And he said “OK, we’re gonna go for Bollywood”. So, I ended up studying in India in Annamalai University. I was supposed to study this three (3) years course where you have “Graphics” in the first year, “Animation” in the second year, and “Filming” in the third year. So, I was in my first year and things were going on pretty well. Later on, about a half years after, my Aunt contacted me on Facebook, and told me to reconcile with everybody, so I contacted everyone, including my mom and everyone was at peace again. So I was studying there and my mom was also contributing to my studies at as then. Sometimes in-between the second (2) year of my study, I couldn’t contact my mom for few days, later on she contacted me and said; “My step dad seized her phones”, and I was like; “DAMN! WHY WOULD HE DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT?”. I had to take the next flight and went back home in Nigeria, because I was really-really mad about the situation. So when I got home, I realized my step dad had convinced my mom to sell her car and most of the properties, so were broke AF![as fuck], like nothing. Later on, my step dad just disappeared, we didn’t see him again, that was it. And my mom who happens to be a clergy person, she goes to church very often and she kept praying and stuff like that.

FIRST TIME I HAD SEX (THE D-DAY)

So there was this period time where she had to do like twenty-one(21) days vigil and she goes every night and comes back home. Most times when she left, I usually felt like experimenting things. And there’s something about we kids born from a clergy home, most of us, not all though. We want to like “try the opposite of everything our parents signify, we always wanna do something outside the ordinary”. So, on this faithful day, my mom went for vigil and I just left the house and I went to one of the popular hotels, back then in(at) Ring RD.(Ibadan), I won’t mention the name of the hotel. So that night, I left the house and I went to this hotel where my mom usually preach to a group of sex workers and I linked up with one of them, and I got a room that night and… things… things went down. And that was literally my first time, because I was a virgin back then, I think I was 20 going 21. And after like 4 hours she was asking me if I haven’t landed and I was like “No I haven’t” (laughs). Before she left, she was; ‘Man, you’d have killed all the girlfriends you’ve had in the past’ and stuff like that. And I was like, “Nahh, you’re actually the first person” and she was; “Liar oshi [stupid lair]”. And she left the room, and that was it.
But what I realized that day was; I didn’t really find any fulfillment and what I did that night, I went back home and…[transitioned].
For the fact that your colleagues do have fun [having multiple partners], doesn’t mean that’s the same way you should have fun as well. I think everyone are wired differently, and after then, I realized I had/have passion for filming. Then I used to use my camera phone to do a lot stuffs, and that was what I found that I really-really love. That experience made me realized that; “OK, I wasn’t just the kind of guy will just go around having sex and stuffs like that,” and more of a person I like to connect first, so, we probably have to be dating before something can go on between the both us. We can’t just %$*($&^(*)) [off pant like that, you know].
