Trailer: ‘The Rise of Skywalker (2019)’ Announces An Emotionally Charged Finale

Two months before its release, the final installment of the Skywalker saga offers itself one last trailer full of emotion, which will bring tears to the fans’ faces by announcing the end of a franchise launched more than 40 years ago. Pulling on these ropes seems way too easy… and yet it works.

Beyond all the feels we have about following Rey, Poe, Finn, Chewbacca and co’s last adventure, this trailer pretends to reveal a lot, while actually showing many extracts from the same sequence, on a planet covered by water. The jaw-dropping photography makes up for it though, keeping up with the level of episode VIII.

As a result, the trailer raises a lot of questions and allows the development of theories (which can potentially be spoilers… or not, we are not sure…).

What’s with all the new planets? Why does C3-PO say goodbye to his friends? Why is Rey hugging Leia? Is it Darth Vader’s mask that Rey and Kylo are breaking? What is the dagger that Rey is holding in her hand during this same sequence? (We have our own idea about that). Is it really Palpatine in the seat facing Rey?

Not to mention what we were already wondering: why is Lando back? What does this title mean? Is Rey really going to become a Sith?

Sooooo many questions which will remain unanswered until the release of the film… I guess leaving us wondering was exactly the point.
