[STORY] THE LITTLE WITCH (Episode 03)

Episode 03.

”Lord supreme! And Queen of the coast ! For twenty years I’ve served , our lordship the black serpent. I’ve brought drums and drums of fresh blood , that can make the sea red , I’ve brought so many fingerlings that counts I’ve lost . My supreme on this child that I brought into our benevolent coven, challenged me! She manifested disrespect to me !! She complained to her parents to sack me , no matter how I tried she wouldn’t stop until they terminated my work at her house . ! She has no respect for me ! My lordship she challenged me to a fight , for asking her to use her powers with caution.”

The Lord supreme and the Queen mother laughed ,the thousands of witches and wizards joined in the laughter .
” Silence!” He suddenly demanded
” Imini you were once like her , until you attained maturity. One of the powers you initiated Vera with is the spirit of stubbornness. Vera has a light in her ! She’s a light of our coven , she shall one day sit on this throne , and you all shall bow before her .”

Miss Imini was wrath and berserk, how could she report her progeny instead of the supreme lord to give her the justifiable punishment, he was rather praising and prophesying good about her .

“Imini I sense you are not happy you have something to say to me ?

Imini was afraid of the great one , son of the black serpent. She had watch as several witches and wizards who failed in their duties were turned into rags and sent to hell to burn forever.

” My lordship you’re thd wisest all knowing one , the one who sits with the black serpent, your will is my desire .”
The Lord supreme laughed and the thousands of witches roared In unison .
“Silence!
He commanded and the place was quiet like a grave . Then somebody giggled .
” Who is the accursed vermin that dares giggle when the supreme one has spoken? Be out here now !

Samson one of Miss Imini’s new recruits from the school floated out , the boy couldn’t have been more than nine years.
” The lord supreme is not merciful! And he doesn’t take kindly to disobedience in this holy ground !
We would use unfortunate Samson as a scale goat to teach the thousands and thousands of new witches and wizards here .”

The ground prince spoke and then fire began to flow from his eyes and his mouth with which he burnt Samson before the coven. The whole place was quiet.

” Talutaduda”
He called on his demon
“Now escort this poor and wretched soul to the gates of hell”
The cries of Samson’s spirit faded away as the demon dragged him away .
“Now ! Let us celebration begin !! Beat the drums , dance and praise the serpent, for darkness has triumph over light”. The Lord supreme commanded the witches and wizards laughed and began to dance .

“Now this is the blood from the Zuba bus accident where thirty people lost their lives to the serpent when we blocked the way , and we have ten drums of blood let us eat drink and be merry .”
They ate and danced till early in the morning.
“Imini I expect ten drums of blood from you and your small coven , you’re fifty in numbers from your portal. I expect hundred heads before the next moon sitting or your head will go for it ! And your place I’ll give to another.”

After the meeting for that night each groups boarded plans going to their countries and states in their airport under the sea .

Vera was so tired when their plane landed in Abuja , she flew like a bird to her house in Maitama.

“Vera ! Vera wake up! Why is there stains like blood on your bed ? And why did you go to bed with meat on your hand ?
Mr Adie asked his daughter as he came to wake her up . Vera was still sleepy she couldn’t understand what her dad was saying .

” Who gave you the meat and where did the blood come from ?

” Daddy I don’t no many i didnt finish my dinner yesterday night.”
My Adie was not convinced.
” What about the blood ?
She was confused.
“Dad it might be from a cut leg . Dad can you go away I still want to sleep !.
Mr Adie forced her to go take her bath . She was already late for school her siblings had been waiting for her for over twenty minutes.

The assembly ground was so quiet . The mood was sombre and sad, as the students whispered in inaudible tones .
” Attention students! Attention please! We have an announcement to make this morning ! It’s a sad morning for Crownford Secondary school, we’ve lost again another Young bright student . Samson Osagiale a student in JSS2 C , slept yesterday night and didn’t Wake this morning, we pray may the Lord give his family the fortitude to bear this lost .”

The whole school was sad and solemn throughout that day. Vera and the other members of their coven were so sad because they knew the cause of his death .

During break period Miss Imini a spiritual message to her forty nine remaining progeny’s, they were coming one by one into the locked school hall, removing their uniforms and wearing their black hooded gowns .

” I call for this urgent meeting to discuss two things ! One the task the supreme lord gave to us , we have to hit the ground running . You all have tasted the meats and drank the bloods of lambs from the sacrifice. Now is our time, it’s our time of honour to bring in this seasons kill, we’re to contribute two hundred heads , through accidents and deaths in the hospital, we’re to work in three teams . Vera you’ll lead twenty men to the Maraba road, you have to put a trap on Kugbo hill, to trap buses .”

Some of the older members of the black serpent coven from Crownford Secondary were not happy that a little girl who was fairly a new witch could be given control over them who have been in the coven.

” I read your thoughts! You all saw what happened to Samuel, the supreme lord doesn’t take lightly with disobedience to his orders, Vera is a chosen one .”

They were all appeased and afraid to challenge the directive of the great one ,nobody wanted to end up like Samuel.

“Doyin you will take fifteen army to the airport you’ll cause a plan crash , I’ll take some to Zuba to cause an …

Vera interrupted her .

“There’s somebody outside the door ”
Immediately Miss Imini closed the meeting for that day . The students started disappearing and appearing at different places in the school compound , where no eyes could see them. Miss Imini and Vera appeared outside the door to thr hall , where a teacher was eavesdropping on their conversation.

“Mrs Nkoli why are poke nosing into a business that’s not your business! And how come you can hear us when no one is supposed to?

Mrs Nkoli was shocked , she didn’t know from where Vera and miss Imini came from . She was visibly terrified, trembling and her knees knocking together.

“Please don’t kill me ! I’m sorry for eavesdropping, I was just passing and I heard voices in the hall I stopped to investigate what was happening”.

Vera’s eyes were steaming with hot yellow fire . And her head had changed to that of a lion .Mrs Nkoli was terrified she began to run screaming , hysterically.
“please don’t kill me ! Please don’t kill me ! please Miss Imini it’s a mistake”

As she ran Vera and Miss Imini kept appearing before her. The whole school was out watching the drama unfold on the corridor of the hall on the second floor.
“Kill her now.”
“Please Vera! Don’t don’t don’t!!

Miss Imini instructed Vera . And She lifted Mrs Nkoli up with her eyes and threw her down from the corridor of the first second floor , with a force that shattered her head , Mrs Nkoli landed with her head first . Her head was splattered remains of the brain was everywhere.
The school was thrown into confusion , students scresming and crying running up and down . The principal had to call the police and Civil defence to come evacuate the body .

” Madam principal you said the teacher was screaming like she was seeing some people ?
The police detective asked.
” Yes sir , she was begging not to be killed , then she jumped off the corridor and landed with her head first , the students were all outside it was break time”.
The police asked the school to be closed for that day to enable them carry out investigation.
They concluded that the teacher had psychosis which led her to commiting suicide .

At Kugbo hill Vera appeared with her nineteen coven members , they picked a BRT bus heading for Wuse , she put a stumbling block before the bus . The driver saw a big bat like animals flying ahead . With red eyes like coals of fire , and legs like humans , it was Vera and her colleagues, they descended on the bus , pushing it backwards, the driver was trying to increase the speed .

” Maverick go to the drivers side with ten bats push from there so the vehicle will fall Inside the pit”.
Maverick and his team pushed from the driver side and the vehicle was rolling towards the pit. So many voices of screaming and shouting . The bus knocked another bus behind it, it rolled into the deep ditch , and kept tumbling down the hill. Vera lifted the front of the Bus carrying one hundred and twenty people and threw it down the hill , she poured petrol on the vehicle and set it alight.

People were crying as the fire ate threw their skin. Vera stood watch preventing anyone from the bus to escape , they all burnt to ashes . On the second bus she allowed about fifty people who didn’t die in the crash to escape. Over fifty people died in that bus. She was so tired that morning after the operation that happened around six A.M targeting overcrowded buses taking people to work in the morning.
The news media went agog , carrying the news of over two hundred people that died at the site of a multiple bus crash.
All members of the coven gathered round at the school hall to celebrate Vera for the great feat she had achieve. She got the two hundred mark in one attack . More people had died on their way to the hospital and more in the hospital.

Vera sat in silence in the sitting room watching the news of how disastrous the attack on the passengers bus was , she couldn’t hold back the tears , her mum consoled her and asked that the TV be turned off . Only if they knew…
