[STORY] ESTHER MY LANDLORD’S DAUGHTER (Episode 04)

Episode 04.

Are you, we both said, simultaneously.

Okay you go first, I said, giving her the chance to speak first.

Are you Savvy, she asked.

Yes I am, I replied her.

She was too surprised to speak, she just kept staring at me like I was an angel that came down fr heaven.

Please don’t that, I said, Your embarrassing me, I added looking around to see if anyone noticed us.

I can’t believe it’s you, you know, my dad told me yesterday that we’ll be having an important guest today, but it didn’t interest me, not until he said though it’s gonna be a surprise visit, I’m definitely going to be happy when I meet the person, she said. I was very curious about who that will be, but I kept on praying that it should be you, and here you are, she added.

I’m I even famous, I whisper to myself, but she heard it.

Yes you are, she said. Your my celebrity, she added.

I couldn’t help but smile sheepishly.

I’m Nelly O’Neil, she said, reaching out and hugging me.

Nice to meet you Nelly, I said breaking the hug.

So what are we waiting for, let’s go home, she said, and ignited the car engine.

The drive to her house didn’t take up to ten minutes. We arrived at a well furnished duplex.

You’ll love it hear, she said, turning off the car engine.

We both got down and she walked close to me and held my hand, leading the way.we got to the huge door that opens when you put the right password. I followed her hand pressing on the button,I found out that she even used my name as the password.

Does your parent know, it’s my name name you used like the password, I asked.

Yes, I made them change the password to your name, the were happy when I said it’s the easiest password that I can remember, she said. But how do you know it’s your name I used, she asked.

I followed your hand, but don’t tell me you forget things easily, I said.

No, that’s not what I mean. I’m saying that was my excuse to make them change the password, she explained.

Alright, shall we, I gestured to her, and she walked in.

We got to the leaving room and I was surprised to see a lot of people seated on the couch.

Are they your family people, I whispered into her ear.

Yes, they are my extended and nuclear family, she replied me.

So why are they all here,I asked.

For you of course, she said and I freed my myself from her grip
Woah, who do we have here, her dad said, drawing everyone’s attention and they all turned and looked at me.

Good evening everyone, I greeted.

How are you dear, an elderly woman said, coming close.

I’m fine thank you ma, I replied her.

Hi, I’m Nelly’s mother, we’ve heard so much about you, and we were looking forward to seeing you, a dashing sparkling woman who should be in late thirties, said.

The pleasure Is all mine, I said.

I got introduced to everyone, while all this was happening, Nelly and I were making eye contact.

So tell us, Mr Savvy, How did you meet my daughter, her mom asked when everyone had settle down.

Well, I explained to them how we met earlier today coincidentally and everything that happened.

Wow, I can see your really happy, her mom, referring to her.

Ok launch time, Nelly announced to everyone.

We all left the leaving room,and all road leads to the dining. When I saw the dishes on the dining table, my tummy rumbled.

Mr Savvy, can you please lead us in prayers, Nelly’s dad said to me.

Okay, All eyes closed, I said.

I lead in a brief but effective prayer which even after they all said amen, they kept looking at me from the corner of their eyes.

We began eating, and soon conversations began, each of them had something to ask me, some were asking about school, some work, so about my family, I even told the two interesting stories and some funny jokes. They were all cheering me and clapping for me, not until Nelly’s asked me a question that almost made choke. So what’s your relationship with Nelly.

Well, I explain to her that it’s just a writer and favorite reader’s relationship for now, that time will tell.

I could see happiness written over Nelly.

Nelly after the meal why don’t you give your guest a tour around the house, her dad said.

I’ll be glad to, she said to her dad, then turning and giving me a naughty look.

After the meal, Nelly and I excused ourselves and left everybody.

The way she was dragging me along, made me ask her if the was any problem. She told me she had something to show and it’s a surprise.

We got to a room and she opened the door and went in and I also followed suite.

Immediately I got into the room, she bounced the and quickly locked it. Before I could understand what was going on, she jumped on me and planted a kiss on my lips.
