[STORY] DELILAH (Episode 03)

Episode 03.

I had to move in with Patricia because of my business and I was so happy with it not until one day a beautiful lady appeared from no where and stood before my stand. She was too elegant that I stared foolishly not hearing what she was saying at all,
“Hello, are you listening to me? She asked waving at my face and I blinked.
“Oh yea, welcome, I said clearing my throat.

“Good, can I have two wraps please? She asked.
“Yea sure, I replied and hurriedly had it done.

“Here, she said stretching out notes to me but I was reluctant to get it from her.
“You don’t want? She asked.

“Uhmmm you can take it free, but if you like it you can always make this your spot okay, I replied.
“Are you serious? Thank you, she said with all smiles like an angel and I melted.

“You’re welcome, I said almost in a whisper and she swerved her waist and left.
Usman, the guy who sells makeup things next to me began to laugh,
“If na me ask for sharwama even for credit you for like give me? But na you just dash the whole two give woman, he said.

‘But guy check out babe na. Hear voice, see skin, babe too fresh abeg, I said licking my lips.
“E be like say you no ready to do business o. Tomorrow now she go show here with five of her friends for free sharwama shebi you go give? He asked.

“Usman if she likes make she come with her village people, as I dey so I go hands up for her. She don touch my mumu button, I replied and Patricia approached us.
“A wrap please, she said sitting down on the bench I kept there.

“Give me your money, I said to her.
“Wah lie no give am anything. He just dey dash one fair sisi like that two wraps to carry go, Usman said.

“Usman how this one come concern you now? I asked.
“No wait! You give babe two wraps and you dey ask me money like thief? You don dash me sharwama before? Patricia asked.

“Your birthday never reach, it was the lady birthday, I replied laughing to cover up. Ever since that day, I was waiting anxiously to see her again and Usman didn’t stop teasing me about what happened.

“She never come back to say thank you? Abi e been no sweet? Usman will ask and I was getting pissed up with his constant mockery.
“Come, face your front do your business wetin dey worry you! I shouted one evening he repeated that.

“Ahh he don vex o, no be me say make she no come back o, Usman replied with his annoying laugh and I just hissed. But somehow he was right, didn’t I prepare it well for this babe to come back? I asked myself knowing it was more than a week since she left.
Then one good day when I didn’t expect, I was bent over my table working when I heard “hello” and when I looked up it was her.

I wanted throwing my things out of excitement but I kept my cool,
“Welcome, I said to her.
“Thanks, remember me? She asked and I smiled.

“Of course, you didn’t come back again, or was it not good? I asked.
“Oh no I’m so sorry for that, I traveled that’s why and yes it was so good that’s why am back right? She asked and I smiled nodding my head at Usman.

“Glad to hear that, so should I give you another wrap? I asked.
“Yes, this time 8, she replied and Usman coughed.

“8? I know I should not ask but why 8? I asked with my heart beating fast afraid to give out such wraps for free.
“Oh its for my girls, she replied.

“For your birthday? I asked getting set to have it done.
“Nope, actually I’m getting married soon. I just want to use that as a refreshment for my asoebi ladies, she replied and I had instant headache.

I looked sick immediately and Usman started singing some songs in his dialect happily.
“That’s great, congratulations, I managed to say.
“Thank you, please make it tasty like last time, she said and sat down on the bench concentrating on her phone and tears of pain piled up in my eyes.

I can’t believe I had sleepless night thinking about someone else babe and I wished she never told me she will be getting married soon.
I packaged the 8 wraps and gave it to her and Patricia approached me and pecked me. She’s fond of doing that when she sees me talking with a strange lady, she’ll come act like my girlfriend to make the lady jealous.
“Ouch you’re so sweaty, Patricia said cleaning my sweat I didn’t know I had but I kept her hands down because I was not in the mood for her games.

“I’m busy please, I said to her with a frown.
“Okay your money, the lady said handing some notes to me and this time I took it, I can’t ruin my business for someone else babe. I just thanked her and she left and Usman bursted out laughing,

“Wetin happen? Patricia asked and Usman didn’t waste time to tell her everything. They both laughed at me but I was not disturbed, I just had my first heartbreak and it was so painful.
Patricia didn’t know it was that serious until I fell sick, she was so shocked I loved someone that deep for the first time,
“Patrick I dont understand you, yes she’s beautiful but then stop doing this to yourself na. Is it not the same you that plays with ladies because you’re intelligent and handsome now look at your life, Patricia said when I laid on the bed ignoring people calls who wanted finding out why I am not open.

“Sis forget you won’t understand, I have tried to forget about that girl but its not working, I replied.
“Get up abeg this is not you, that sharwama stand is bringing pretty girls to you everyday you’ll surely see another, Patricia said dragging me up.

‘Pat leave me na, I don’t want to open today. I know all this motivational talks you’re saying is because you want to eat sharwama and it won’t work, I said and she looked at me with a frown and sat down quietly. Her sad face is always funny to me and despite I was heart broken I could not help but laugh at her.
“Okay fine let’s go, I said tickling her and she laughed running outside.

She helped me to attend to the customers who lined up waiting for me and when we got home, I was glad I left the house to ease my mood.
But after a week she returned but I was not affected anymore, probably I’ve moved on.
“Hey, you’re back? I asked but she nodded and sat down on the bench with a sad face and I sat down with her.

“You don’t look good what’s wrong? I asked.
“Can I get a wrap please? She asked.

“Sure I know my sharwama calms tension, but what’s wrong? I asked and she sniffed.
“Don’t bother please, I just came to get a wrap, she replied and I stood up and returned with a wrap and sat down with her and watched her eating it slowly.

“Are you okay? I asked when she was done eating and she nodded.
“Thank you, looks like you made this more tasty, she replied.

“You didn’t tell me your wedding date, or am I not invited? I asked and she heaved.
“Not anymore, she replied

“You mean? I asked.
“He canceled it, she replied

“I’m so sorry, I calmly said and she heaved. In my heart I was thanking God o, to me i thought it was God working for me as every feelings I had returned.
“Its alright, where’s your girlfriend? She asked.

“Who? I asked.
‘The one who pecked you that day, she replied and I smiled.

“That’s my twin, her name is Patricia, I replied.
‘You’re a twin? She asked and I brought out my phone showing her our pictures.

“Wow, I said it that day that you two look so alike, she said.
“Yeap, So you thought she was my girlfriend? That’s funny, I said getting my phone from her.

“But I’m not wrong to think that way, she said and i breathed out.
“by the way what’s your name? I asked.
“Loveth, she replied.

“Beautiful and I guess you don’t want to know mine right? I asked.
“Oh common that’s not true, she replied

“But you didn’t ask, I said.
‘Okay my bad, what’s your name? She asked.

“Patrick, I replied
“Nice, and I notice you talk so intelligently, are you a graduate? She asked and I smiled.

“Yes, first class in accountancy, I replied
“Wow, then why are you here? She asked.

“The labour market was not favorable, or is this bad? I asked.
‘No not at all you’re doing well. And again there’s still hope for you to get a better job after all you’re still young, she replied and I smiled.

“Let me believe that, I said and she breathed out while I just stared at her admiring a beauty.
“Why? Is there anything on my face? She asked.

“Oh sorry about that, let me give you one free wrap again, I replied getting up.
“Really? That will be great, she happily said.

I got home that day humming happily and told Patricia how God has finally returned my woman to me. She was just looking at me saying nothing,
“You’re not happy for me? I asked.
“So you think you can take Care of that babe? You go fit maintain am? She asked.

“Just watch and see, i will have her and do everything in my power to make her mine whether I am just a sharwama guy or not, I replied and Patricia scoffed.
“Whatever, she said and concentrated with the office work she bought home.

Loveth kept coming to buy Sharwama and we exchanged numbers and within two months I could no longer hide it anymore. She knew I was in love with her already and she made things easy for me by saying yes without me asking,

“Yes to what? I asked.
“Should I take it back? She asked.

‘No no no, I’m so shocked right now knowing am not your type of guy, I replied but she just crossed her hands on my neck and kissed me.
