Speaker Tajudeen Abbas condemns kidnap of workers, patients in Kaduna hospital
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, has condemned the abduction of workers and patients in Kaduna State.
On Monday, bandits kidnapped two nurses and two patients from the Primary Healthcare Centre in Kuyallo community in Birnin-Gwari Local Government Area of the north-western state.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by the Special Adviser, Media and Publicity to the Speaker, Musa Krishi, the speaker charged security agencies to rise up to the occasion and rescue those being held captive by the bandits.
“The activities of bandits have become too rampant, especially with the last attack on vulnerable targets like a hospital.
“Our security forces need to, as a matter of emergency, go after the abductors and rescue those abducted from the health facility. They must ensure that no Nigerian kidnapped in any part of the country remains in captivity,” the statement read in part.
Abbas also called for sustained efforts to rid every part of Nigeria of the dangers of kidnapping, banditry and terrorism.
