See How Twitter Reacts To ‘Average American Woman Is Now A Size 16-18’

American women are getting thicker with each passing year. Now for the first time ever – the Average American woman has grown to a size 16.

A new study published in the International Journal of Fashion Design, Technology and Education found that the average size for American women grew from a 12-14 in 2018, to a range of 16-18.

Scientists have now determined that the average waist circumference has increased 2.6 inches in the past 21 years. According to a report from 22 Words, “Researchers explained that this updated information is crucial for the fashion industry and for women in general, many of which have compared themselves to this inaccurate and misleading information for years.”

But it’s not just women that are growing in size. The study reporting that ALL Americans are growing, and that the average American (male or female) is 50+ LBS overweight.

More than 70 percent of the population in North America is considered overweight, according to the new study. By contrast, in Europe only 51 percent of the population is considered overweight.

Latin America fell between Europe and North America, with the study reporting that 57 percent of the population is considered overweight.

The same study found that in Africa, only 28 percent of the population is considered overweight. And in Asia, a mere 25 percent is considered overweight.
