Imo APC Caucus Meeting: Why I Fell Out With Okorocha – Uzodinma
The Imo state governor, Hope Uzodinma has opened up that the squabbles between him and Senator Rochas Okorocha, started when he refused to grant Okorocha’s request that Dan Nwafor, should be allowed to be the state chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and that he (Okorocha) wanted the state chairmanship position for his ambition.
Secondly, that he Uzodinma, should disband all the probe panels set up by the former adminstration of Emeka Ihedioha, that have been looking into the financial and contracts records of the Okorocha’s eight years regime when he was the governor of the state.
We gathered on Sunday in Owerri, where Uzodinma told hundreds of Imo state APC party leaders during the enlarged caucus meeting held at Government House in Owerri.
The governor also used the opportunity to present his performance and what he was able to achieve for the people of Imo state, since 14 January, 2020 as the governor of the state.
Uzodinma among other things said:
“There were two requests Okorocha made to me when I became governor. The first was to dissolve the panels set up by Ihedioha to probe his administration.
“I refused to grant the request because as I told him that I think the mood of Imo people was in support of the probe.
“The second request on allowing Dan Nwafor remains chairman i also declined and told him to allow the party and the laws of the land settle the issue in accordance with the rules of justice,” Uzodinma said.
