‘I Was Jealous Of Jada Pinkett’s Love For Tupac’ – Will Smith
Will Smith has admitted that he was once jealous of the love his now-wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, shared with her childhood friend, Tupac Shakur.
Smith headed to The Breakfast Club with his Bad Boys 3 co-star, Martin Lawrence to promote the movie when he was asked whether he’d ever felt insecure about Jada and Pac’s close relationship.
“Ahh, f*ck yeah. Oh, my God! Dude! And that was in the early days. And it was like… that was a big regret for me too cause I could never open up to interact with Pac. You know, we had a little bit of a thing because they grew up with each other,” he explained.
Tupac was gunned down in 1996, a year after Will and Jada began dating, so the two never hashed out their differences. He admits that there was tension between him and Pac.
“They loved each other but they never had a sexual relationship. But they had come into that age where that was a possibility and then Jada was with me,” Will said. “So, Pac had a little thing on that. But she just loved him. He was the image of perfection but she was with the Fresh Prince. We were in the room together a couple times, I couldn’t speak to him. And he wasn’t gon’ speak to me if I wasn’t going to speak to him.”
