Google Pay receives support of the WORLD card and Maestro

Despite the many industries in which Google products occupy a leading position, the search giant’s contact-less payment service remains the most unpopular of the three, consisting of Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and Google Pay. Even in Russia, where affordable smartphones with NFC are extremely common, Google Pay’s position is still far from the success of its competitors. But Google has decided to increase coverage by increasing the number of supported banking organizations, as well as compatible payment systems.

If earlier Google Pay supported only cards issued under the auspices of Visa and MasterCard payment systems, now it is possible to link “plastic” (including virtual) from Maestro and “MIR”to the service. The expected growth of audience should occur through the introduction of the card “the WORLD”. They are now the main payment instrument for students and employees of budget organizations, which some time ago forced to “Peace” by abandoning Visa and MasterCard.
To tie the WORLD map to Google Pay

In addition to support Maestro cards and “WORLD”, Google Play earned from cards “Proinvestbank”, “Ekaterinburg municipal Bank”, “Energotransbank”, “Expobank”, “Interregional Bank for reconstruction”, and “Orenburgburgaz”, “Troika-D Bank”, Bank “Realist” Bank “Dolinsk” and the Bank “Ring of Ural mountains”. All this, judging by the names — regional banks, whose clients are residents of Russian regions and republics. Now the opportunity to pay contactless will be available to them.

At the moment, Google Pay supports about a hundred different banks and credit institutions, being a more universal analogue of Apple Pay and Samsung Pay. Unlike the latter, whose work depends on the devices of their respective brands, Google Pay is supported on almost all Android smartphones with a near field module, providing a lower entry threshold.
