Fulani Herdsmen Wipes Out Family In Nasarawa
Suspected Fulani herdsmen have killed a family of four at Antsa village of Kwarra district in Keana Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
Speaking to newsmen Wednesday, an eyewitness, Denen Utsa said that the killings occurred on Tuesday.
He said: “As I speak, security operatives have been mobilised to recover the butchered corpses from the farm where the killings took place.”
Denen gave names of the slain Tiv family as the father of the family, Utindi Kyor; his son Shie-Aondo; his son’s wife, Dedzugwen and his grand son, Boyi.
A Tiv leader in the state, Thomas Gar, also spoke on the incident.
He said: “The young man was going to his farm alongside his wife and child when they were intercepted by the suspected Fulani herdsmen.

He said: “The young man was going to his farm alongside his wife and child when they were intercepted by the suspected Fulani herdsmen.
“They collected his man’s phone and forced him to call his father to come so that they will release them.
“He called his father to the spot and instead of releasing them, the young man, the wife, the child and the father that came were all killed instantly.”
Gas, who is the Nasarawa Mzough U Tiv chairman, lamented that the situation in Nasarawa State was worsening.
“The vice president came barely about a month ago and all our expectations were that there will be peace. But unfortunately, there is no peace in our communities.
“Up till now, nobody has gone back to the places of their abode; the farming season is fast running out and they are still hanging around in the neighbouring communities.
“We have minimum security personnel on the ground and the Tiv people are still stranded in various IDPs camps because they have not gone back to their places of abode,” he stated.
He appealed to the federal government to do more in alleviating the sufferings of the Tiv farmers in the state.
“The Tiv people in the southern senatorial district of the state are still suffering and are still trapped in the IDPs camps”, Gar added.
It was gathered that the incident occurred within hours of another herdsmen attack on Tiv farmers at Gada-Biu village in Obi Local Government Area of the state.
One Aondovihi Tuur was killed, another farmer Virlumun Atsaga is missing, while over twenty others sustained various degrees of matchet cuts.
