Chelsea & Malmo Charged By UEFA Following Europa League Game
Chelsea and Malmo have been charged by UEFA following their Europa League last-32 match on Thursday. The London club have been charged with throwing objects and supporters invading the pitch.
The cases will be dealt with by the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body on March 28.
Ross Barkley and Olivier Giroud were on target for Chelsea in their 2-1 win in Sweden, as the Blues bounced back from a 6-0 thrashing to Manchester City in the Premier League last Sunday.
After they face Manchester United in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Monday, Chelsea will host Malmo in the return leg of their tie on Thursday, February 21.
Chelsea are already facing an investigation into alleged anti-Semitic chanting during their match against MOL Vidi in Hungary two months ago. That charge will be judged on February 28.
