Huawei confirms launch date for tri-fold smartphone
The fact that Huawei intends to release the first (or second, if you include Tecno) tri-folding smartphone in history is no news. To create anticipation, several real-world photos of the phone have been released, most likely on purpose. The launch date has recently been announced by the corporation.
On September 9 at 14:30 local time (September 9, China), the phone will be unveiled at an event. By the way, Apple is scheduled to release the iPhone 16 range at this same time. The timing of Huawei’s announcement is deliberate, as the business clearly intends to overtake Apple—at least in the home market.
Unfortunately, the innards of Huawei’s first tri-fold phone have been a closely guarded secret. Its camera modules are standard Huawei fare, complete with a circular design and a noticeably thick housing. Under the hood, one can expect it to run a Kirin chip, likely the Kirin 9010 or a sub-variants. Alternatively, it could also show off the supposedly 5 nm Kirin 9100 that is said to perform on par with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
