I will work hard to deliver Southwest for Buhari – Olusola Oke
Chief Olusola Oke, a stalwart of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo state has stated that he would work hard to ensure that all the aggrieved camps within the party throw their weight behind the re-election of President Muhammdu Buhari in February 2019 election.
Oke, who was recently appointed as the South West Director of Buhari/Osinbajo Campaign Organisation, noted that “Buhari is real the project” that should be the business of the party members in ensuring he returns back to power as the presidential and general election draws nearer.
He re-affirmed this while receiving members of the Buhari/Osinbajo Strategic Solidarity Movement (BOSSEM) in Akure recently.
The two time former governorship candidate dispelled the insinuations that the internal crises within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo state would affect the second term bid of President Muhammadu Buhari in the South West.
He said “my primary work is to bring everybody together: the aggrieved and non-aggrieved to have a good showing.
“We need everybody, so whosoever is aggrieved; we would make appeal to them. I am happy about one thing: whosoever is aggrieved will still you I am going to work for our President.
“Mr. President is the real project and APC has a way of finding solutions to its problems, so, that is not a problem. We will all work together”, Oke said.
According to Chief Oke, the major challenge of next general election is for Nigerians to make between the right and wrong.
“Voting for another candidate apart from President Buhari is like the Israelites going back to Egypt but in APC we are focused on Canaan by supporting Buhari.
“The Yoruba people are very sophisticated politically. Their place in the last election was crucial and critical and it’s going to be same in this election.
“We have our own options and we have weighed the options and at this level, the option of Buhari has no alternative and that is why we are going for him. No doubt, there are challenges.”
He explained that the challenges of what the present administration had been facing for the past three and half year were to lay a new foundation for the growth of the country.
“The super-structure is yet to come. It is now our responsibility as Nigerians to make sure the solid foundation is not destroyed so that the superstructure can be put on it.
“To achieve this is not going to be an easy job, but we are fortified in our belief by the existence of the various groups, also care about the future.
“Therefore, whatever challenges that we have are not insurmountable and I can assure you, we have put our hands on deck and we are not going to look back.”
Chief Oke, alongside the BOSSEM Coordinator, Mr. Femi Bamisile, who is a former Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly, later pledged to deliver the six states in the South West region for the ruling APC next month.
“We would do everything that is humanly and legally possible to ensure that South West takes its place of pride in the return of Mr. President to power in May 29, 2019.”
