1. Read books.

They help trust me. When you know the principles guiding color choice, fonts, design Layouts, Types of Logo… your job will be neater and professional.

2. Get video tutorials.

That will familiarize you with the tools and show you new things.

3. Search for design classes online and attend.

There are lots of big bad ass Nigerian designers doing free and paid training sessions online. Join their classes

4. Make friends with top designers globally and watch their social media pages especially on Instagram. Download their jobs and redesign them. Visit their websites also.

5. Follow big brands on social media and watch their design adverts. Big brands like Durex condom, Coca-Cola, Pepsi, MacDonald’s and Burger King, Noah’s Ark, ellae Creation, live with Lynda, KFC, Sterling Bank, GTBank e.t.c and follow what they do.

6. Finally, know that it’s a process.

Don’t rush it. Learn the basics first then build up. Don’t be in hurry to learn mockups from day one. Follow the process and you will be great!
