Hey, what’s up guys! Welcome to another episode of “Learn New Words With ANE“. Today, (or this weekend) we shall be looking at some English words you can learn.

First of, before we proceed or jump into business. Why should you learn new words? Learning new words doesn’t only make you smart, it also makes you feel among. So don’t just learn it, know it, save it and digest it!. So whenever you come across them, you’d be able to decipher what they mean without looking into a dictionary, or surfing through Google for help. We good? Yeah? Great! Did you miss the recent class? NB: At the end of each word’s meaning, we added “making a statement” example. However, those example isn’t the limitation for usage of that particular word. There are thousands (if not millions) of sentences you can involve those words with/in. The examples were given for easy notation, so feel free to liberate the usage in your everyday conversations. Enjoy!.

Meaning/Breaking down;

1. Tympanize
Meaning; “(obsolete) To stretch, as a skin over the head of a drum; to make into a drum or drumhead, or cause to act or sound like a drum.OR “(obsolete) To drum.”

Making a statement;
loading….. . . . .

2. Perpetual
Meaning; “Lasting forever, or for an indefinitely long time. ORSet up to be in effect or have tenure for an unlimited duration.ORContinuing uninterrupted.ORFlowering throughout the growing season.

Making a statement;
She was an attractive girl with a quick smile and a PERPETUAL twinkle in her eyes.

3. Mockup
Meaning; A prototype, usually low-fidelity, such as paper illustrations, screenshots, or simple configurations of screens with limited interaction.

Making a statement;
During the excos meeting, we were given a MOCKUP for the next project.

4. Hoard
Meaning; A hidden supply or fund.

Making a statement;
During market value crash, Udoka HOARDED his tomatoes.

5. Phenomenal
Meaning; “(colloquial) Very remarkable; highly extraordinary; amazing.OR “(scientific) Perceptible by the senses through immediate experience.OR “(philosophy) Of or pertaining to the appearance of the world, as opposed to the ultimate nature of the world as it is in itself.

Making a statement;

6. Mortify
Meaning; “To Kill.ORTo affect with vexation, chagrin, or humiliation; to humble; to depress.ORTo embarrass, to humiliate. To injure one’s dignity.

Making a statement;
I was so MORTIFIED I could have died right there; instead I fainted, but I swore I’d never let that happen to me again.

7. Perpetrate
Meaning; To be guilty of, or responsible for a crime etc; to commit.

Making a statement;
After the investigation, it was discovered that Olayemi was the PERPETRATOR.

8. Cecity
Meaning; Blindness.

Making a statement;
It’s difficult to see CECITY in a sentence.

9. Storier
Meaning; A teller of stories; also a historian.

Making a statement;
Okoro Daniel O. is a good STORIER.

10. Ta ta
Meaning; Goodbye.

Making a statement;
Dear beautiful readers of ANE, today I’m not gonna say adios, instead I’ma say TA TA, since it’s a new word we learnt today. 😀
