The board a few weeks ago, suspended University of Benin ICT CBT centre, for a similar purpose. In total, 15 CBT centres have been suspended so far, for breach of registration rules for 2019 exercise, while the sanctions were lifted off two other CBT centres in Anambra and Plateau states.

JAMB’s spokesman, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, in a statement released in Abuja, noted that the measures were in line with the board’s determination to ensure that sanity is restored in the system.

He insisted that JAMB was committed to continuous effort and innovation that would increase credibility and public confidence in the annual university matriculation exam.

Nevertheless, the latest registration figure released by the board on Sunday indicated that 1,489, 463 candidates had registered so far for the 2019 UTME. Lagos with 205, 051 candidates, tops the table, while Kaduna, Oyo, and Abuja occupy second, third and fourth place respectively.

Additionally, Kebbi (11, 896), Sokoto (10,667) and Zamfara (4,921) states are at the bottom of the table.

Meanwhile, the JAMB governing board has approved a ten-year limitation on the use of a statement of result for its staff. The implication is that all statements of result submitted by staff would elapse after 10 years of issuance unless otherwise stated in the particular statement of result.
