The quarter-final matches of the 2018 World Cup will kick off on Friday.

Most of the pre-tournament favourites like Spain, Germany and Argentina are already eliminated.

Surprise names like Russia, Sweden and Croatia, however, remain in contention for the big prize.

So which teams do you think will qualify for the last four?

Uruguay vs France (Friday July 6, 3pm): Uruguay will most likely line up without Edinson Cavani, who was their match winner against Portugal in the last round. France will, however, have Kylian Mbappe at their disposal. The Paris Saint-Germain forward was in supreme form, as Les Bleus dumped out Argentina. We expect France to edge this.

Brazil vs Belgium (Friday July 6, 7pm): This is arguably the tie of the round. Belgium barely qualified for this stage, needing to come from behind to beat Japan 3-2 in the last round. However, if they repeat that sloppiness against Neymar and co, there will be no coming back. Brazil to win it any way.

Sweden vs England (Saturday July 7, 3pm): Sweden must be proud of how far they have come in the tournament, winning the ‘Janne Way’. If they stick to their style, England may be in for a rough time. But you expect Gareth Southgate’s men to have enough to see them through.

Russia vs Croatia (Saturday July 7, 7pm): Nobody gave Russia a chance to qualify from Group A. But here they are, fighting for a place in the semi-finals. However, you do fear the hosts have gone as far as they could and the fairytale will end against the Croats, who have a far more superior team.
